You’ll have read or been told that you need a calorie deficit to lose fat
And you might then also think that the bigger the deficit, the faster the results will be?
There are some major issues with this…
You are setting yourself up to fail
Sure, you might see some ‘fast’ changes taking place
But, relatively quickly, your body will adapt to that low level of intake & you’ll have no room to progress
You’ll probably also feel like shit!
Tired, hungry, moody, lethargic
And you get really stuck
You can’t take any more food away as you’re already living on celery soup & shitting through the eye of a needle
And the absolute fear of eating more & gaining weight becomes very real
To the point where you have no idea what to do
So, what should we do?
Aim to keep calories as high as we can for as long as we can
Eat as much as possible
Enjoy the process, enjoy the food, enjoy the energy
And - most important - give yourself the maximum amount of room to adjust moving forwards
With this approach, you’ll feel bloody fantastic… while making progress, while losing fat & knowing that you’re able to make changes WHEN NEEDED to keep that progress going long-term
